
Miami FC continued its late-season surge Wednesday night, earning a commanding 4-1 victory over Sporting JAX at South Dade Kia Field at Pitbull Stadium.
The victory marks Miami FC’s third consecutive win and moves the club to an 8-9-10 record in the 2026 USL Championship season. With 33 points and three regular-season matches remaining, Miami continues its push for a spot in the Eastern Conference playoffs.
After back-to-back road victories over Rhode Island FC and Indy Eleven, Miami returned home looking to carry its momentum into another important matchup.
The match shifted in Miami’s favor in the 29th minute when Sporting JAX defender Ryan Edwards was shown a red card, leaving the visitors with 10 players for the remainder of the night.
Miami capitalized nine minutes later. Mason Tunbridge connected with Arney Rocha, who found the net in the 38th minute to open the scoring and give the hosts a 1-0 advantage.
The pressure continued, and Miami doubled its lead just four minutes later. Alessandro Milesi won the ball and found Denilson Milanes, who finished the opportunity in the 42nd minute to make it 2-0.
Sporting JAX responded almost immediately, with Jean Mota scoring in the 43rd minute to cut the deficit and send the teams into halftime with Miami holding a 2-1 advantage.
Miami remained in control after the break, using its numerical advantage to manage possession while continuing to search for opportunities to put the match away.
The breakthrough came in the 80th minute. Arthur Rogers found Tunbridge, who added Miami’s third goal of the night to restore the two-goal cushion.
Five minutes later, Milanes struck again. Matías Romero connected with the forward on the counterattack, and Milanes finished off the far post to complete his brace and seal the 4-1 victory.
Miami finished the match with 61 percent possession and recorded 12 total shots, including six on target. Sporting JAX registered 11 attempts, with three on target.
The result extends Miami’s unbeaten run to five matches and its winning streak to three. After draws against Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC and Brooklyn FC, Miami has earned consecutive victories over Rhode Island FC, Indy Eleven and Sporting JAX, collecting 11 of the last 15 available points.
Miami has also found another gear offensively during the winning streak, scoring eight goals across its last three matches while conceding just two.
Wednesday’s victory continues Miami’s perfect record against Sporting JAX in 2026. The two Florida sides have met three times across all competitions this year, with Miami winning all three.
Miami earned a 4-2 road victory in their first USL Championship meeting on March 25 before defeating Sporting JAX 1-0 in USL Cup action on April 25. Wednesday’s 4-1 result gives Miami three victories over its in-state opponent this season, with nine goals scored and three conceded across the three meetings.
With three regular-season matches remaining, Miami will look to carry its momentum into another important in-state matchup this weekend.
Miami FC returns to action Saturday, October 3, when the club travels to St. Petersburg to face the Tampa Bay Rowdies at Al Lang Stadium.
