Miami enters the matchup following a 1-1 draw against Brooklyn FC last weekend. Arney Rocha gave Miami the lead in the 70th minute, but an own goal later in the match brought Brooklyn level. Goalkeeper Eloy Room came up with a crucial penalty save late in the match to secure a point for Miami.
The result marked Miami’s second consecutive draw and moved the club’s record to 5-9-10 on the season. With the Eastern Conference playoff race continuing to take shape, every point becomes increasingly important as Miami looks to close the gap and make a push during the final stretch of the regular season.

Rhode Island FC enters Saturday’s matchup following a 3-0 victory over Sporting Club Jacksonville on September 12.
The result moved Rhode Island to 9-5-8 on the season and into eighth place in the Eastern Conference. RIFC has also remained unbeaten in its last nine matches at Centreville Bank Stadium, making Saturday’s matchup another important test for Miami on the road.
Rhode Island has received contributions from several players during its recent run of form. Stas Korzeniowski has scored twice in the club’s last four matches, while Yutaro Tsukada and Jojea Kwizera also found the scoresheet in the 3-0 win over Sporting JAX.
Miami will face a Rhode Island side that has scored seven goals over its last four matches while conceding just two during that stretch.

Saturday’s matchup will be the second meeting between Miami FC and Rhode Island FC during the 2026 USL Championship regular season.

The result marked Miami’s second consecutive victory over Rhode Island after the two clubs split their two meetings during the 2025 season.
Miami currently holds a 2-1 advantage over Rhode Island in the all-time series.

With the regular season entering its final stretch, Saturday’s matchup carries importance for both clubs.
Rhode Island currently sits in eighth place in the Eastern Conference, while Miami enters the weekend in ninth. Miami is looking to close the gap on the playoff places, while Rhode Island will look to strengthen its position in the postseason race.
