A goalless draw against Monterey Bay FC
Miami FC dominated possession from the start. Salvadoran internationals Josh Pérez and Sorto combined for Miami’s first clear chance of the game in the 18th minute.
Sorto delivered a lobbed ball into the box and Pérez brought it down with his chest. He produced a shot shortly after, but Union goalkeeper Antony Siaha made a save.
Miami continued exposing Monterey from wide positions but failed to find open forwards inside the box. Left-back Aedan Stanley struck a free kick on target just before halftime.
Miami FC continued attacking early in the second half. Stanley served a cross to attacking midfielder Florian Valot, who met the ball with his head. however, the attempt went wide.
Reggae Boy Lamar Walker was subbed on in the 69th minute and made his presence known moments later. The 21-year-old produced a shot from a tight angle after multiple stepovers.
Goalkeeper Jake McGuire, who had not been tested all game, produced a double save in the 77th minute. McGuire blocked a shot, shifted on his line and caught a second right after.
Despite holding 66% possession, Miami FC was not able to score a winner.

Former Memphis 901 players Kyle Murphy and Pierre da Silva led Miami FC in their 2-1 win over Memphis 901 FC in April.
The Orange and Blue took care of scoring business early, with the two goals arriving before the 15th minute mark. Murphy tucked in a shot seven minutes into the game, and Da Silva poked the ball into the goal four minutes after.
Goalkeeper Connor Sparrow made key saves to keep Miami in a winning position.
