July 4th Fireworks Fun with Miami FC vs. Puerto Rico Islanders
Miami, July 3, 2008 - Miami FC (3-6-7) will be facing off against the Puerto Rico Islanders in a nationally televised USL-1 battle on Fox Soccer Channel at 8pm (ET) tomorrow, 4th of July. The Blues are coming off of a heartbreaking defeat to FC Dallas (2-1) in the US Open Cup last Tuesday but will look to continue their 7-game undefeated streak within the league. Tickets for tomorrow\'s game are only $10 and include parking, a fireworks show at the end of the game, and admission. The first 200 fans will also get a free Hotshot bobblehead. Miami, 2, 2008- Miami FC was invited to an exhibition at the Jewish Museum of Florida showcasing and honoring Jewish Athletes from the Sunshine State. Almost every sport, from fishing to football, was represented. All of the main South Florida teams were showcased including the Miami Dolphins, the Florida Marlins, the Miami Heat, and the Florida Panthers. Miami FC was put in prime position for the exhibition as everyone who entered immediately saw the outstanding display.

Dallas, July 1, 2008 - Miami FC faced MLS' FC Dallas in the 3rd Round of the 2008 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup tonight at Pizza Hut Park in a very exciting game. Miami had never played an official match against any MLS team before, and the Blues lost with 2 goals scored in stoppage time at each half, both by Abe Thompson, after Alex Afonso had given Miami the lead in the beginning of the first half.

Alex Afonso scores and Miami FC advances in the US Open Cup
Miami, June 24, 2008 - Miami looked to make history tonight and they did just that. A lone strike from Brazilian ace Alex Afonso in the 40th minute led Miami FC's first-ever 3rd round Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup berth. In their short three-year history they have never made it past the second round. Tonight they knocked out the Atlanta Silverbacks 1-0 at Tropical Park Stadium. They will now face MLS' FC Dallas on July 1st.
