SHORT MATCH SUMMARY

MIAMI SHORES, Fla. - The Miami FC squad clinched a spot in the NISA Showcase East Coast Championship with a 2-2 draw on Sunday night against Atlanta SC. Mo Thiaw recorded a brace, scoring both of the Orange and Blue’s goals after opening his NISA Showcase account last week in a 2-0 victory over Stumptown Athletic.

The match was a back-and-forth affair, with Atlanta twice erasing Miami leads behind goals from Nazeem Bartman and Alex Frank. The Orange and Blue controlled possession for most of the night and created several clear-cut scoring opportunities on either side of halftime.

Atlanta SC’s pacey play culminated with Frank’s equalizer in the second minute of stoppage time.

The NISA Showcase East Coast Championship will take place in November, with the Orange and Blue facing either Atlanta SC or Stumptown Athletic.

The Miami FC has two more NISA Showcase Regular Season matches remaining, including an October 26th match at Riccardo Silva Stadium against the Oakland Roots. Atlanta SC and The Miami FC will face off again next Saturday in Georgia.
