Keep Your Enemy Closer: Storm FC

May 30, 2019

MIAMI (May 30, 2019) - The Miami FC returns home this weekend to host Storm FC at Buccaneer Field at Barry University. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 1.

Head-to-Head
Miami FC and Storm FC faced off twice last year in regular season action.

The first match was a 7-0 drubbing of Storm by the Orange and Blue at Central Broward Stadium that featured five different goalscorers and five different assist-providers.

The second meeting was a more cagey affair, with Storm clawing for the full 90 minutes on the road, holding Miami to just two goals scored.

In the first meeting this season, Miami caught fire, scoring a club-record 10 goals and keeping a clean sheet at Central Broward Stadium.

A Season to Forget, Part Deux
A year after taking a hiatus from the pitch, Storm FC returned to the NPSL in 2018 to compete in the Sunshine Conference.

The return didn't quite go as planned, as Storm finished last in the Sunshine Conference and only mustered one point over 12 matches.

In 2019, Storm was hoping that its fortunes would change, but it's been much of the same.

Through four matches, Storm has lost all four matches and been outscored 20 to three, and it currently sits in last place in the conference.

Slowly But Surely
Just a year ago, Storm was only able to muster one goal scored over the duration of the season.

But through four matches in 2019, the team has already tripled its goal output.

One goal apiece from Geobel Perez Oquendo, Korey Jamal Dyer-Stewart and Frank Leidam Nodarse Chavez has Storm hoping for much more scoring in the near future.
