Keep Your Enemy Closer: Central Florida Panthers SC

May 16, 2019

MIAMI (May 16, 2019) - The Miami FC will hit the road once again this weekend for a date against the NPSL Sunshine Conference's newest club, Central Florida Panthers SC. The match is scheduled to kick off at 6:00 p.m. at Showalter Stadium in Winter Park.

NPSL Freshmen
Central Florida Panthers SC is one of a handful of debutants in the National Premier Soccer League.

In its first year of existence, CFPSC will round out the Sunshine Conference and provide a Central Florida presence for the league.

The club hasn't gotten its NPSL career off to a rousing start, having lost both of its first matches by a combined 9-1 scoreline.

Still, CFPSC was able to net its first-ever goal in club history in last week's match versus Miami United FC, and will look to use that as a building block for the remainder of the season.

An Exemplary Background
Central Florida Panthers SC is affiliated with the Central Florida Soccer League, an organization that includes 3,000 adult players.

The Panthers play their home matches at Showalter Stadium, on the campus of Winter Park High School, which routinely hosts a variety of soccer matches from all levels.

CFPSC is led by head coach Anton Faith for its inaugural season in 2019.

Faith has over 14 years of experience coaching within the soccer world, including having been a Youth Coach at Chelsea FC, Southampton FC and Salisburg City, as well as the Director of Coaching for Orlando City SC.

Players to Watch
Alessandro Mazzetta has started both of Central Florida's matches so far this year and is the leader of its front line.

The 6-foot forward from Venezuela tallied the first goal in club history in last week's match against Miami United FC, scoring on the end of a long ball from goalkeeper Chris Benitez.

With his first-career NPSL goal under his belt, Mazzetta will be relied upon to keep up with Miami's piping hot offense.

A.J. Seals is one of the more distinguished players on the Panthers' roster, and he's still only 19 years old.

The tall, lanky midfielder is currently a member of NC State's soccer team and was part of Orlando City's Academy from 2013 to 2017.

Seals was named to the U.S. Soccer Development Academy's Eastern Conference U-18/U-19 Best XI in 2018, after knocking in 18 goals in 29 appearances.
