Keep Your Enemy Closer: Storm FC

May 2, 2019

MIAMI (May 2, 2019) - The Miami FC heads north this weekend to take on Storm FC on Saturday, May 4. Kickoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. at Central Broward Stadium in Fort Lauderdale.

Miami FC and Storm FC faced off twice last year in regular season action.

The first match was a 7-0 drubbing of Storm by the Orange and Blue at Central Broward Stadium that featured five different goalscorers and five different assist-providers.

The second meeting was a more cagey affair, with Storm clawing for the full 90 minutes on the road, holding Miami to just two goals scored.

A Season to Forget
A year after taking a hiatus from the pitch, Storm FC returned to the NPSL in 2018 to compete in the Sunshine Conference.

The return didn't quite go as planned, as Storm finished last in the Sunshine Conference and only mustered one point over 12 matches.

A minus-40 goal differential and just one goal scored in favor highlighted what was a trying 2018 for the Broward club.

With an infusion of new players and more experience within the rigors of the NPSL, Storm is hoping that 2019 will feature more highs than lows.

New Brand, Same Logo
When Storm FC returned to the NPSL last season for the first time since 2016, it brought forth a change in brand with a new logo, which featured purple, black and white.

After a forgettable season, Storm went back to its original branding, which features blue, green and yellow.

The club is likely hoping that the return to its roots will come with a change in fortune on the field.
