MIAMI (February 13, 2019) - The Miami FC has signed defender John Neeskens to the 2019 roster, the club announced on Wednesday.

The son of legendary Dutch midfielder Johan Neeskens, he spent his entire youth career in the Spanish ranks before debuting with Sant Andreu’s senior side in 2012. Neeskens made 14 appearances for Sant Andreu and 15 appearances for Badalona before transferring to the Colorado Rapids in 2014.

Neeskens appeared five times for the Rapids and scored a goal in a match against Chivas USA. He then spent time with New York Cosmos B and LA Galaxy II before moving back to Spain, where he spent the next two seasons with Gavà and Santboià.

In 2018, he returned to New York Cosmos B as a key component of their defense, using his two-way ability as a left back to help New York top its conference and reach the Regional Final. He buried a crucial penalty kick in the North Atlantic Conference Final that helped ensure a spot in the Regional Playoffs.
