The Miami FC 2 Roster Solidified With 3 Additions

MIAMI, Fla. (April 13, 2018) - The Miami FC 2 is two days from opening its 2018 NPSL season. In order to reinforce the roster, the Orange and Blue has come to terms with three players who have been training with the team over the past few weeks: Shadi Atassi, Juan Gonzalez and Angelo Rubiano.

Atassi played collegiately at George Mason University for one year before signing with Argentinian powerhouse club Boca Juniors. With Boca, Atassi made appearances with the club's under-20 team and reserve squad. After his stint in Argentina, Atassi joins Miami FC and will serve as a versatile option on the left flank.

Gonzalez played for four years at Nova Southeastern University before joining the New York Cosmos, winning an NASL Championship with in 2013. From 2015 to 2017, Gonzalez was a prominent figure in the NPSL, playing for Weston FC and Miami Fusion FC. Gonzalez spent last season with the PDL's South Florida Surf and will provide a solid option in midfield for Miami. 

At just 18 years old, Rubiano is Miami FC 2's youngest-ever player. The Colombian right back spent most of his youth career in Italy, starting in 2012 with S.S. Lazio's Youth Sector until 2015. After his time at Lazio, Rubiano played for Abano Calcio and Lausanne Sport before most recently getting playing time with Seregno Calcio in Serie D.

Miami FC 2 and Miami United FC face off this week in the first match of the 2018 NPSL season. The two sides face each other once again, this time at Bobcat Field at St. Thomas University, on Saturday, April 21 at 7:00 p.m. The second Magic City Clásico is the beginning of a four-match homestand for Miami FC 2, who will then embark on a four-match road trip.
