MIAMI, Fla. – The Miami FC announces that it has signed Vincenzo Rennella from Valladolid of Spain’s Segunda División, before the close of the transfer window.
“We are very happy to have him here in Miami," said Miami FC's Technical Director Mauro Pederzoli. "Plus, we are confident that Rennella will be able to help us achieve our goals of reaching the playoffs this year."
Rennella, an Italian National, found success with Lugano of Switzerland during his second stint with the team. His breakout season came out in 2008-2009 when he scored 24 goals in 22 appearances.
Five years later, Rennella made a permanent move with Real Betis of La Liga. Betis loaned him to CD Lugo, scoring 13 goals for the Segunda Divisón side. After a season with the Real Betis first team, he was loaned out to Valladolid.
He would play in 14 matches for Valladolid before joining the Miami FC.
The squad is back in action this Saturday, as they head north to face Minnesota United. They return to FIU Stadium on August 13 for FL Clasico clash with the Ft. Lauderdale Strikers. For tickets to the match, click here
