Miami, Fla. (April 1, 2016) – As they make their NASL debut, the Miami FC will kick-off their 2016 season Saturday at Lockhart Stadium, when they take on their fellow South Florida rivals, the Fort Lauderdale Strikers at 7 p.m.

Last season, the Strikers clinched a postseason berth with a victory over Jacksonville Armada FC (1-0), but lost to the eventual 2015 NASL Champions, NY Cosmos, in the semifinals; 2-1.

Among the top international players that the club brought to Miami include goalkeeper Daniel Vega, midfielders Matuzalem and Wilson Palacios, and forward Dario Cvitanich.

Head coach, Alessandro Nesta, is excited to start his coaching career with this club and in this city, “Starting a team from scratch is not easy, but we have all worked really hard and have been awaiting this day. The rivalry between us begins tomorrow and we are going to leave it all out on the field.”

The Miami FC will only play the Strikers once during the spring season. After that, they will matchup twice during the fall season. Miami FC’s next home game against the Strikers is August 13, 2016.
