Brad Smith

Born in Leicester, England, Brad moved to Canada when he was young and grew up in the Toronto area. His passion for the beautiful game was always strong. Playing competitive soccer growing up, his father founded the Oakville Vipers FC in which Brad took a technical role with the open age men’s team. With over ten years of soccer retail experience, Brad became a product knowledge expert in Canada’s largest soccer store, Soccer World, serving the elite players and coaches of the region whilst honing his knack for equipment management.

In 2011, Brad graduated from Durham College receiving a Sports Management Advanced Diploma and was selected as the program representative to market the program using various media outlets. During his collegiate years Brad played for the Pickering Power of the Ontario Soccer League along with his varsity team, The Durham Lords of the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association. In late 2011, his combined soccer experiences landed him the role of the Player’s Services Manager with Major League Soccer’s expansion side, the Montreal Impact. It is in Montreal where Brad built his relationship with (then player) Alessandro Nesta and fitness coach, Paolo Pacione who together would lift the 2013 Amway Canada Cup along with the ESPN Wide World of Sports Disney Pro Soccer Classic and reuniting for the 2017 NASL Spring and Fall Season Championships with Miami FC five years later.

In 2014, Marc Dos Santos signed Brad to the NASL expansion side, Ottawa Fury FC, as they were seeking a smooth PDL to NASL expansion production with Brad’s expertise. 2015 was a big year for Brad as the Canadian Men’s National Team, led by former Real Madrid technical director Benito Floro, came knocking and Brad found himself representing Canada in the Pan American Games in Toronto along with the Olympic Qualifying Tournament in the USA’s mid-west, 2016 Russia World Cup Qualifying matches and international friendlies.

In late 2015, Brad received the long awaited call from Alessandro Nesta to be the equipment manager for Miami FC. Brad is currently in his third year with Miami FC and is contracted until the end of the 2019 season.

In the off-season, Brad manages a non-profit 1v1 cage soccer organization called the International Duels Association and his sole-proprietorship, The SoccerSmith, which focuses on producing individual player evaluations for elite young soccer players in the Greater Toronto Area. Brad holds various Canadian and US Soccer coaching licences along with a plethora of relevant sports management certificates. Brad resides in Miami Lakes with his wife, Katie.
