Jun 2, 2018

BOCA RATON, Fla. (June 2, 2018) – The Miami FC 2 was on the road for the third-straight match, taking on Boca Raton FC Saturday night. The Orange and Blue were firing on all cylinders on the pitch taking down Boca 5-0 to push the club’s unbeaten streak to six matches.

The Orange and Blue came out the gates fast in the first half, picking up where they left off after Wednesday night’s 7-0 victory.

It took just 11 minutes for the Miami FC 2 to take the lead with Jaime Chávez collecting a bouncing ball at the top of the box and cooling slotting it past the Boca Raton keeper.

Chávez continued to harass the Boca backline, eventually netting his brace in the 24th minute. Don Smart would whip in a marvelous cross from the right touchline, finding Chávez in front of goal for the headed finish.

The lead would balloon to 3-0 in the 35th minute when Tyler Polak pushed into the Boca Raton box and finding Dylan Mares at the near post for a tap –in finish.

The Miami FC 2 went into halftime looking confident on the pitch and with a strong 3-0 lead.

The Orange and Blue did not slow down in the second half, constantly threating the Boca Raton goal throughout.

Just minutes after being subbed in to the match, Ariel Martínez put MFC 2 up 4-0 in the 61st minute. Martínez has taken down in the box, drawing a penalty. He stood at the spot and saw his penalty shot saved but kept his head and scored on the rebound.

Moments later Martínez and Sean McFarlane would execute a perfect give-and-go that would end with McFarlane finding the back of the net and putting MFC 2 ahead 5-0.

MFC 2 would not relent keeping the pressure on, even with a comfortable lead.

Shadi Atassi would create a 1v1 chance for himself in the 85th minute only to see the keeper get enough on his curled shot to push it into the far post and away from danger.

The score would hold at 5-0 after 90 minutes of action giving the Miami FC 2 its third-striaght victory and shutout.
