The Miami FC Bolsters Midfield with Signing of Jonny Steele

MIAMI, Fla. – The Miami FC has acquired Jonny Steele after reaching a transfer agreement with the Ottawa Fury.
 
Steele, a Larne, Northern Ireland native, is a proven veteran of US soccer, having played 12 seasons throughout the pyramid.
 
He broken into the American soccer scene in 2004 when he signed with the USL’s Syracuse Salty Dogs. Steele’s NASL career kicked off in 2010 when he joined the Vancouver Whitecaps.
 
After two seasons in the NASL, Steele made the jump to MLS. He would go on to play three seasons in the MLS, playing for Real Salt Lake and the New York Red Bulls. Steele was a regular starter for the Red Bulls, making 48 appearances alongside the great Thierry Henry.
 
Steele returned to the NASL in 2015 with Minnesota United FC. He played in all 12 games of the 2016 with the Ottawa Fury before joining the Miami FC.
 
Through the years Steele has been featured at almost every level of the Northern Ireland National Team, progressing from the U-16 team all the way to the senior team. He has earned three caps for the Northern Ireland Senior National Team.
