Technical Staff

Paolo Pacione

As a seasoned fitness coach, Pacione has been able to produce exceptional results for the teams he has worked with. Starting in 2002, the Toronto native spent the first few years of his career working with youth soccer academies between Canada and Italy. Pacione went on to work with the Canadian Soccer League and Canadian Soccer Association and set the bar as Canada’s first soccer fitness coach.

In 2007, the Canadian trailblazer began to work with the Women’s U17 National Team where he ultimately helped them reach international cups including the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup. In 2010, the U17 team went on to win the CONCACAF Championship. In 2012, Pacione took his talents to the Canadian men’s Olympic team where he was able to help the team reach the semi-finals in the CONCACAF Olympic Qualification rounds. Throughout his career, Pacione has made it a personal mission to highlight the importance of keeping physical and mental health a priority for the team’s he’s worked with to bring out their best performances.

More recently, Pacione served as Performance Manager for the MLS’s Montreal Impact where he again helped the team shape up for its league, national and international championship matches. Pacione helped the soccer team reach this past year’s CONCACAF Championship League Final and qualify for the MLS Cup Playoffs.

“It’s great to work with Nesta once again,” Pacione said. “I believe in the vision that he looks to build with our team, and I’m happy to be a part of it. Laying the right framework and tone for how we want our inaugural season to look like is something the technical staff will be prioritizing as we kick-off the preseason.”
