Gale Named to the USA U-20 Roster

Miami FC One of Miami FC’s newest acquisitions, Gale Agbossoumonde, was called up to represent the United States in the U-20 World Cup that will be held in Egypt. Agbossoumonde - who is only 17 years old - is expected to anchor the United States back line. Agbossoumonde joined the team on August 6, 2009 and has played 138 minutes in three matches. The coaching staff thinks the sky’s the limit for the young American defender.

Miami FC Miami FC announced today its participation in the Red Bull Street Style Miami Qualifier. The event will showcase some of the best soccer freestylers in Miami. It will take place on Friday, September 18th at the old Virgin Megastore inside Sunset Place Mall in South Miami. Red Bull and Miami FC will transform the old Virgin Megastore into a freestyle complex.

Miami FC Miami FC lost the first leg of its West Coast trip, losing to the first place Portland Timbers by a final score of 3-1. Miami FC fought hard and at one point had the opportunity of walking away with a draw, but the team could not overcome playing a man down. The Blues will now travel to Swangard Stadium to face the 7th place Vancouver Whitecaps on Sunday, August 23, 2009 at 7 PM. Vancouver currently holds the last playoff spot even though it has a three point advantage over Miami.

Miami FC Miami FC will embark on its toughest and most decisive road trip of the season this weekend. The Blues will travel to Portland to face the hottest team in the USL on Saturday, August 22nd. Miami will then travel to Vancouver on the 23rd to play the Whitecaps, who currently hold the last play-off spot.
